About The Position

This position provides direct Human Resource (HR) program support to staff relative to timekeeping, employee relations, recruitment, benefits programs, and various other areas of Human Resources as required. The role oversees and administers the Short Term Disability program, monitors each case along with Family Leave Medical Act (FMLA) and Parental Leave compliance. The Program Support Tech assists in all facets of semi-monthly payroll, creates DOC-3's, sends packets to the payroll office at Atmore headquarters, keys transactions into Cardinal and Page-up. Additionally, the role creates employment and interview packets for all new hires.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of office practices, procedures, and office equipment.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of manual and automated filing systems.
  • Working knowledge of Standard English grammar, punctuation, and usage.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain harmonious working and public relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new practices, procedures, and equipment operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to compose written responses to inquiries.
  • Considerable recent experience providing customer service and administrative support in a professional office setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information in a courteous manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in providing customer service and administrative support in a professional office setting.
  • Recent experience using office equipment (i.e., computers, printers, copier, and fax machine).
  • Background in record keeping.
  • Experience using Corrections Information System (CORIS).
  • Some experience in Human Resources in a correctional and/or alternative setting.
