The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Office of Inspector General. The position plays a primary role in the issuance of certificates of need to health care providers based upon provider specific state law and regulations; evaluates managed care plans for compliance with network adequacy statute and Administrative Rules of Montana (ARMs) to ensure the adequacy, accessibility, and quality of health care services offered under a managed care plan; oversees compliance with statutory provisions of the independent peer review process; manages the Rural Hospital Flexibility grant; and provides staff assistance to flex grant contractors in the administration of the Rural Hospital Flexibility Program. The position provides technical and research support for Office of Inspector General administration on specific health care issues as needed. Research performed includes the continuous review and assimilation of health care industry trends, laws, and other issues affecting Montana healthcare planning. The position is responsible for the design and utilization of appropriate survey tools to assess the status of Montana healthcare services and facilities, and the design, use, and maintenance of healthcare databases. This position provides advice and technical assistance to department management, as well as other state and local leadership on program processes.
