About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Program Support Specialist is responsible for support duties within the Community Services Department. The Specialist is an integral part of intake for programs, including verification of eligibility. This is often a front line position and may include performing duties in a variety of CAFI locations.

Requirements

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED
  • At least two years professional experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check, driving history check, and submit to an initial physical drug screening.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and in writing).
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage numerous tasks with little supervision.
  • Ability to prepare program applications, including budget reports.
  • Ability to stay focused in fast paced environment with high volume of clients.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and maintain positive working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Associates degree or higher in relevant area of expertise
  • Working knowledge of EasyTrak program

Responsibilities

  • Meets with, speaks with, and assists members from a diverse public.
  • Specialist will communicate program requirements to the public through the intake process; and verify eligibility of clients for State and Federal Programs.
  • Provides clerical assistance as needed for managers and supervisors.
  • Provides support and assistance to Program Coordinators, Program Manager, and other administrative team members.
  • Maintains information in EasyTrak data collection tool and client tracking system.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of EasyTrak software.
  • When applicable, maintain a working knowledge of data collection tools such as Hancock, ChildPlus, or others.
  • Maintains electronic and paper records and files.
  • Prepares reports and other required documents for the Community Services Department.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Maintains knowledge of program guidelines and regulations to ensure proper delivery of program services.
  • Performs any other work that may be required to deliver programs to achieve Agency goals and objectives.
  • Leads, participates, and engages in community Events; may include distribution events, fundraising events, or other community initiatives.
  • Participates in community partnerships and assists with implementing the conditions of MOUs (approved by the Executive Director.)
  • Keeps Service Centers tidy and professional, including their own personal workspace.
  • Performs similar job-related duties as assigned.
