About The Position

The Program Supervisor at Dungarvin is responsible for overseeing Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff and managing the daily operations of an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) in Baton Rouge. This role involves ensuring person-centered supports for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or complex medical needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible. The supervisor plays a crucial role in staff training, scheduling, coordinating medical appointments, managing supplies, tracking expenditures, ensuring documentation compliance, and maintaining company vehicles, all while upholding Dungarvin's mission of respect, response, and choice.

Requirements

  • 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in the human services field
  • 1+ years of Direct Support / Caregiving experience providing services directly to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • A valid driver's license
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Flexible to provide on-call support outside of regular business hours
  • Proficiency with computers specifically MS 365 and MS Office
  • Able to quickly learn and adapt to changing technology
  • Must be reliable, flexible and possess good decision-making and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Preference is given to applicants who have a 2-year degree in the field of human services

Responsibilities

  • Conducting orientation, ongoing training and supervision of 7 Direct Support Professionals
  • Staff scheduling
  • Coordination of medical appointments for individuals supported in the program
  • Monitoring inventory of the home’s groceries, medical and household supplies and purchasing supplies regularly
  • Tracking and documentation of receipts and expenditures
  • Ensuring compliance and accuracy of daily documentation
  • Ensuring routine vehicle maintenance is performed on company vehicles
  • Regular communication with nursing staff on medication needs within home
  • Provide occasional transportation to individuals supported in the home, local travel
  • Ensuring all aspects of the program are developed, implemented, coordinated, and monitored to the highest degree possible.
