Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of vocational training and program development/evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead incarcerated individual work crews effectively and securely.
  • Proficiency in operating, maneuvering, and navigating vehicles, machinery, and tools (including maintenance and repair).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver clear instructions, document data, and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key operational leader and mentor within our warehousing team, driving both program excellence and individual transformation.
  • Serve as a trade specialist leading daily warehousing, delivery, installation, and general construction activities within Utah Correctional Industries.
  • Function as a first-line supervisor/foreman, directing and mentoring inmate work crews and staff to achieve high-quality project and program goals.
  • Provide hands-on vocational training, skill development, and valuable work experience to offenders in the pre-release program, preparing them for successful workforce reintegration.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety and environmental guidelines, maintaining rigorous adherence to OSHA, EPA, and correctional security standards.
  • Inspect materials and products, monitor production standards, track operational data (time, production, cost records), and deliver reports that drive program success.
