We have an immediate need for Program Specialist to join our team. We are looking for part-time employees to support School Age Child Care (SACC) programming during the regular school year (12:00 pm - 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday, up to 40.0 hours per week) with extended hours (7:30 am - 5:30 pm) during summer vacation. As a member of the SACC department, the Program Specialist designs and implements after-school and out-of-school day programming for girls ages 5-13. Programming will inspire girls to be self-sufficient, responsible members of the community. The Program Specialist role serves as an advocate for a pro-girl environment, leading research-based programming that equips girls to lead fulfilling and productive lives, break the cycle of poverty, and become role models in their community. This is a non-exempt position for the school term of September 2, 2026 - June 25, 2026 with the option to continue working through the summer season. The minimum pay rate for this position is $19.00 per hour, and the incumbent will be eligible for some of the paid time off benefits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Minimum of two years of direct service-related experience working with school-age children highly desired. College graduates with a relevant course of study but with less experience may be considered.
  • Experience in program development, program planning, group facilitation, volunteer coordination, partnership building within the community, etc.
  • Working knowledge of developing relevant, engaging programming for girls between the ages of 5-13.
  • Highly developed skills in planning, organizing, and attention to detail.
  • A self-starter with the ability to lead groups and foster cooperation.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to “pivot” and respond appropriately and with a sense of urgency in critical situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify needs and develop relevant programs.
  • Ability to maintain an inclusive work environment, respectful and supportive of all communities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prepare and complete program reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively as a team player across the organization.
  • Capacity to work independently, take initiative, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other applications to conduct day-to-day administrative tasks efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in English, English/Spanish, Haitian Creole/English, etc. is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and deliver special interest group activities for girls between the ages of 5 -13.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned, such as snack preparation, closing, assisting with events, and chaperoning field trips.
  • Assist with program transportation service and serve as a monitor on transportation routes for events, field trips, etc.
  • Assists with program planning with other staff members.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of problems, concerns, needs, trends, and unusual activities.
  • Maintain accurate class records and other required program reporting.
  • Participates in staff meetings and training sessions as requested.
  • Organizes and maintains assigned work areas.
  • Work collectively with other staff across the organization.
  • Carries out other responsibilities as assigned.
