About The Position

This part-time position is located in the Support Services Section of the Utilities Department within the City of Oklahoma City. The Program Specialist will support the Utilities Communications team by developing engaging internal and external communications that inform and connect employees and customers. Responsibilities include creating graphic design materials, writing and editing content, capturing photography, supporting marketing and outreach initiatives, and assisting with multimedia projects across digital and print platforms. This role collaborates with teams throughout the Utilities Department to develop communication materials that promote department initiatives, educate customers, and strengthen employee engagement while ensuring consistent messaging and branding.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application submission.
  • Employees in part-time/year-round positions may work no more than 29 hours per week.
  • Ability to travel is required.
  • Professional and management occupations requiring extensive courses of study (typically four or more years education, degrees, professional certification and/or licensing) or some combination of education and experience in related types of work.
  • Knowledge of organizational, managerial, and administrative concepts and principles of the designated profession.
  • Skill in research principles and practices.
  • Specialized knowledge of specific professional occupations including: engineering; architecture; accounting; urban planning; legal or technical advisors; scientists; supervisors; and other management professionals; may be required to fully function in the assigned position.
