About The Position

The Program Specialist – Volunteer Services is responsible for the coordination of volunteer services across Keck Medical Center of USC. The Project Specialist assists in the administration and coordination of a variety of project management functions including planning, budgeting, organizing, research and delivery of services. Additional responsibilities include supporting the departmental leadership in data entry, data analysis, document/report generation and meeting preparation. The position will also maintain projects in facilitating contracts, invoices, and agreements.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • 2 years Experience in a healthcare position/setting
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint.
  • Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, selects, trains and supervises Keck Medical Center volunteer staff.
  • Coordinates school volunteer programs with instructors and USC staff.
  • Maintains appropriate volunteer personnel records: health records, reports of time and services provided.
  • Serves as a liaison to staff to determine departmental needs for volunteer assistance.
  • Develops new assignments and criteria for the assignment of volunteers.
  • Provides processes and procedures to ensure the integrity of the program including ongoing education and monthly reporting.
  • Develops a volunteer recognition report and recognition events.
  • Manages the projects and programs through preparation, tools, materials and presentations related to orientation, training and continuing education of volunteers.
  • Provides written guidelines, policies and procedures for the conduct of the Volunteer department and programs.
  • Coordinates activities and develops relationships with internal and external contacts to ensure compliance with the programs.
  • Presents and maintains metrics monthly and annually.
  • Ongoing implementation of projects to enhance the volunteer experience.
  • Monitors operations budgets and implements policies and procedures as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
