Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate distance learning applications, answer application questions/emails, respond to all distance learning email inquiries, schedule PhD application interviews, and follow up on incomplete applications.
  • Prepares applications for review by the director.
  • Advise current distance learning students, audit students' records, and advise on degree plans, graduation and defense forms, and other academic issues, including billing questions, drops/adds and withdrawal requests, registration, and degree plan blocks.
  • Educates distance learning students on the requirements for degree completion, including the registration processes in HOWDY, degree plan and petition submission (DPSS), and form submission (ARCS).
  • Monitor and assist in maintaining the DL listserv/database and compile statistical data for the distance learning program.
  • Prepare and update PowerPoint presentations for student orientations.
  • Assist with distance learning program assessment, including HelioCampus and College of Engineering reports.
  • Supports Graduate Programs Office duties and objectives as needed, to include the annual Student Paper Contest and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain the director's calendar, scheduling meetings, interviews, and conferences.
  • Compose and edit correspondence and letters.
  • Monitor action items and initiate follow-ups to ensure timely responses to meet all deadlines.
  • Work with TEES EDGE to monitor course/certificate offerings, track, and maintain a database of registered students, monitor their progress, and send reminders for completion and deadlines.
  • Check all certificates awarded for accuracy and record the file.
  • Work with faculty to create new courses, assist with implementing course material into Canvas, and review material for ADA compliance.
  • In conjunction with TEES EDGE, facilitate all faculty short course offerings with external partners, including contract negotiation/completion, course registration, delivery, and all meeting logistics as needed.
  • Maintain records/data for both certificate programs and short courses.
  • Travel to multiple conferences yearly to promote the online graduate degree programs and recruit prospective students.
  • Prepare and ship the recruiting booth, coordinate booth set-up at each event, and ship recruiting material.
  • Update PowerPoint presentations for recruiting as needed.
