About The Position

The Program Specialist 4 position supports the mission by determining priorities and setting objectives within the WSP VIN Program. This position manages several portions of the VIN program to include sensitive item tracking and issuing, developing, revising, implementing and administering WSP VIN Program specific policies and procedures. The Program Specialist 4 acts as a liaison in developing, and conducting training for the WSP VIN Program, along with conducting complex Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) investigations by coordinating with law enforcement and departments of licensing, or their equivalent, in all fifty states as well as internationally. The incumbent reports directly to the VIN Program Manager and acts on their behalf when necessary. This position requires an expert level of knowledge related to the WSP VIN Program, but does not perform VIN Officer duties on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Some travel is required based upon business needs and training.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the subject matter expert for the WSP VIN Program.
  • Interact daily with the public, VIN program management and staff, and national/international government entities regarding VIN related inquiries.
  • Develop, edit, implement, and ensure adherence to VIN program policy and procedure.
  • Act on behalf of the VIN Program Manager, to include representation at national and international events and meetings.
  • Create and implement program level training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison nationally and internationally to coordinate necessary resources for complex VIN investigations.
