About The Position

The Registrar's Office supports Western's mission by fostering student success and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of institutional records, policies, and procedures. This position is part of the degree evaluation team, responsible for evaluating and processing baccalaureate degree applications to ensure adherence to all University requirements. Key responsibilities include the evaluation and oversight of specific specialized programs from application to degree awarding, accepting and articulating transfer credits, and supporting the Degree Works program. The role requires efficient time management, comfort with frequent interruptions, and a detail-oriented approach within a dynamic environment of curriculum changes. This position will be an integral member of the Registrar's Office, committed to providing excellent client service to the university campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or equivalent education/experience.
  • At least two years of coordinating a specific program / project and high-quality customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining high level of security / confidentiality with sensitive records.
  • Demonstrated commitment to support a workplace culture of diversity, access, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working independently, exercising independent judgment, and prioritizing tasks while working under deadlines.
  • Experience working in an environment guided by multiple policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating experience learning and working with new software programs with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years Banner Student Information Systems including Transfer Articulation Module or complex database systems experience.
  • Experience in higher education, primarily 4-year public institutions.
  • Document management software experience including scanning, indexing and retrieving records.
  • Experience with Adobe Professional, Publisher or other web development tools.
  • Experience testing relational database, information system upgrades for defects, performing data analysis to detect and troubleshoot errors.
  • Degree Works or similar degree evaluation software experience.
  • Proven ability to be an effective time manager, comfortable in a work environment with frequent interruptions while being detail-oriented in high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate creative solutions and troubleshoot in difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and achieve goals as a member of a team.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams.)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation and complete oversight of specific specialized programs of study from initial application to final awarding of degrees.
  • Accepting and articulating transfer credits for enrolled students.
  • Supporting the Degree Works program utilized by the degree evaluation team, campus stakeholders, and students.
  • Maintaining full client service to the university campus.
