The Program Site Engineer develops manufacturing processes for new products and programs, including specifying assembly equipment, establishing process flow, estimating labor requirements, developing work instructions, and designing and implementing error-proofing. The role prepares quotes and other customer-required submissions and establishes production-floor layouts that support lean manufacturing and effective use of space. The engineer coordinates departmental responsibilities for new-program launches, provides leadership, and audits manufacturing processes for effectiveness and quality. The role represents Nascote at assembly plants for problem evaluation or launches and at vendor shops to validate machines before delivery. It investigates process problems using 8D or similar methods, leads teams to solutions, periodically re-evaluates processes for throughput, labor utilization, and quality, and prepares and follows up on engineering change documents. The position also determines facility and maintenance project requirements, leads the Maintenance team and coordinates daily maintenance activities, and plans and coordinates new line-equipment installation, relocation, and building additions. It may require working various shifts, overtime, and weekends when needed, and includes mentoring entry-level Assembly Manufacturing Engineers. Safety is a priority in work behavior and assembly-line design.
