About The Position

The Program Security Specialist (Senior) leads Information Technology (IT) planning, analysis, and coordination of security, property management, and other operations-related activities across the program office, with emphasis on program security. This includes developing, improving, and implementing operations-related business rules, management processes, and best practices that contribute to organizational efficiency and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an additional two (2) years of experience
  • 8+ years of experience in physical, personnel, operational and/or communications security
  • Knowledge and practical experience in applying Army Regulations related to physical, operational, personnel, information, communications, and industrial security
  • Experience in writing and implementing SOPs for various security disciplines
  • Experience in implementing and managing physical security measures and controls, particularly in environments containing sensitive systems
  • Written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting security documents
  • Ability to work independently in a high-paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Word), SharePoint, and Teams
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

  • Experience working with DoD and Army security environments
  • Familiarity with physical security measures, ensuring the protection of facilities housing program systems and environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead non-governmental coordination with the designated Network Enterprise Center (NEC), IT Service Desk, and program office as necessary to troubleshoot and resolve IT hardware and software issues
  • Perform backup and management of shared drive data and the respective hardware servers
  • Develop, update, and monitor compliance with various IT and/or security documents such as tenant security plans and other Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Assist with developing and updating security plans, processes, and SOPs in accordance with Army and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, including for IT, data, property management, and Operational Security (OPSEC)
  • Coordinate, monitor, track, install, and troubleshoot above-baseline software across the entire program office, to include configuration management and planning for upgrades/license-renewals
  • Develop and maintain updated planning, tracking, and reporting documentation related to IT, security, space, property management, and related office operations
  • Interact with the designated NEC and DoD sponsors on assessments, inspections, reviews, investigations, modernization/updates, hardware/software procurements, and other IT/security-related issues (e.g., Site Assistance Visits, Internal Management Controls Program)
  • Participate in security risk assessments and make recommendations to mitigate potential threats to personnel, facilities, and classified information
  • Provide project related content management and access control on SharePoint and MS Teams Channels; and support data management, backup, and transition across sites as necessary, to include the development of tools, dashboards, workflows, libraries, and progress reports
