About The Position

The Program Security Officer (PSO) will provide security support for a dynamic, fast-paced USG organization. The PSO must possess and have successfully demonstrated technical security competence, problem solving skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to determine and implement effective security policy for the protection of classified efforts. The duties of a PSO include, but are not limited to: Using knowledge of the various security disciplines such as physical security, personnel security, information system security and industrial security, create and implement comprehensive security plan, as well as putting in place measures to mitigate risks and protect sensitive information and assets. Responsibilities include conducting security assessments at potential domestic and international work locations. This position requires a minimum of 50% travel to support the establishment and ongoing management of operational security requirements as business needs dictate. When not working abroad, the candidate will be expected to support domestic locations with similar responsibilities, including training new security staff on security protocols and procedures. Plan, coordinate, and manage security support for classified activities with a thorough understanding of ICD 705, NISPOM, and Department of State and Department of Defense force protection standards. Additionally, assist with development, review, coordination, and execution of critical program security documentation. Monitor, report, and track corrective actions resulting from compliance reviews. Ensure timely notification of pertinent security matters to program technical and management staff.

Requirements

  • Experience working in international or remote field locations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 to 12 years of related experience (additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Must possess current/active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
