About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Projects & Office Operations and Clerical Supervisor, HRLMP, the Program Secretary will provide administrative and secretarial support to an assigned number of Laboratory Managers within the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) Portfolio. The Program Secretary will need to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all members of the teams, including manager, lab staff, clinical partners and professional staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Community College Business Secretarial Program or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience
  • Proficient keyboarding skills (60 wpm)
  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and database systems including MS Office, Windows, EPIC, Sharepoint, Taleo, Kronos
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain various databases and generate reports from these databases
  • Proven calendar management, experience developing agenda and taking minutes
  • Proven skills for human resources support to post, organize interviews and onboard staff
  • Mathematical skills related to payroll, budget and statistical documents
  • Demonstrated excellence in effective communication and interpersonal skills within a professional and team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative, organize and establish priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project and task deadlines, excellent organizational skills and effective problem solving abilities, work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to develop administrative systems that create efficient work flow
  • Demonstrated ability to appreciate confidential nature of position

  • Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
