About The Position

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Program Risk Manager to support a large, complex U.S. Air Force program. This role will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, mitigating, and monitoring program risks across technical, schedule, cost, and operational domains. The ideal candidate will work closely with government stakeholders, program leadership, and cross-functional teams to ensure proactive risk management aligned with DoD standards and program objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA degree in engineering, Business, Program Management, or related field and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. Air Force or DoD acquisition programs
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, tools, and methodologies
  • Experience with risk tracking tools (e.g., Active Risk Manager (ARM), Jira, or similar systems)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional discussions and influence stakeholders
  • Active DoD security clearance (Top Secret)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the program’s Risk Management Plan (RMP) in alignment with DoD and Air Force guidance.
  • Identify and assess risks using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Maintain and manage the risk register , including risk scoring, categorization, and prioritization.
  • Lead risk review boards and support program management reviews (PMRs).
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, cybersecurity, and program control teams to ensure risks are captured across all domains.
  • Track and report risk mitigation plans, ensuring accountability and timely execution.
  • Provide regular risk reporting, dashboards, and briefings to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with frameworks such as DoD Risk Management Guide for Defense Acquisition Programs.
  • Support issue management and transition of risks to issues when realized.
  • Facilitate a culture of proactive risk awareness across the program.
