About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Program Risk Manager to support its work as a prime contractor on several high-profile U.S. Navy weapon systems. The position manages the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring threats are proactively managed and opportunities are leveraged to support cost, schedule, and performance objectives. The role serves as a primary advisor to program leadership on risk exposure and mitigation effectiveness. The successful candidate is an analytically rigorous, objective systems thinker who can exercise sound judgment, communicate candidly with leadership, and influence cross-functional teams. The position requires understanding the program mission, customer, warfighters, and supported weapon systems. The Program Risk Manager establishes and maintains the Risk Management Plan; leads qualitative and quantitative risk processes; facilitates risk reviews and workshops; and works with technical and operational leads on mitigation and recovery plans. The role maintains the Program Risk Register, monitors mitigation effectiveness, prepares executive-level dashboards and reports, communicates actionable risk insights, and coordinates accurate reflection of risk-adjusted schedule baselines in program plans. The role supports BAE Systems’ long-standing work with the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs. The organization supports the sea-based Strategic Weapon System, the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad, and ongoing development of the Columbia submarine and the next D5LE2 weapon system. BAE Systems describes the program as a stable, growing effort that offers opportunities for professional growth and development.
