Join our team as a Program Quality Lead (PQL) supporting the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) TPY-2 program as part of Strategic Sensors & Precision Strike Business Unit of Raytheon Missiles and Defense in Woburn, MA. In this role, you'll drive a robust quality culture, practices, and collaboration efforts. As the primary quality interface for customers and suppliers, you'll ensure the program meets all Quality & Mission Assurance requirements. This includes coordinating with functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and overseeing contracts consisting of software/system engineering development efforts and sustainment. You'll develop and monitor quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with integrated teams to enforce process rigor. The PQL will be responsible for ensuring independent reviews and assessments of program performance are performed, including independent technical assessments of systems and software engineering, lessons learned, technology, and programmatic (cost, schedule, and risks and/or defects) practices assuring Quality management System (QMS) processes are defined and implemented. This is an onsite role based in Woburn, MA (no relocation available).

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Relevant experience includes work in quality, engineering and/or supplier management
  • Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with Dept of War, ISO, AS/QS, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and/or other national / international standards
  • Experience of a product life cycle from design through sustainment
  • Experience using and applying Root Cause Corrective Action containment and analysis process and tools
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with radar development, production or sustainment
  • Working experience translating external and internal requirements and command media.
  • Working experience in providing technical program expertise for manufacturing and/or design processes.
  • Working and auditing experience with a Quality Management System (ISO 9001 and/or AS9100).
  • Experience establishing customer relations and communications processes.
  • Experience applying Government Quality Requirements and Standards including aerospace, commercial, defense, and space industries.
  • Experience driving successful performance of major subcontractors, suppliers and/or IOTs
  • Strong Understanding of Contracts / Contract Requirements
  • RMD Six Sigma and/or CORE qualified, or demonstrated skill

Responsibilities

  • Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost and schedule performance, early engagement, influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers
  • Develop partnerships with program and production stakeholders, IPTs, and support functions to drive issue resolution and implement improved processes.
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will directly affect the program’s execution and influence.
  • Initiate and perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability.
  • Interpret command media in compliance to work being performed.
  • Generate new Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) projects to reduce costs on the program.
  • Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145, as applicable.
  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with requirements, program functionality, and Software releases (tactile and simulation).
  • Monitor software defects using a bug tracking system, tools and report defects to stakeholders.
  • Define and analyze Quality metrics.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with the other QA leads and functions
  • Assess Engineering work products (Peer Reviews, Configuration Control Boards, Code Reviews, Product Readiness and Sale, etc.) to identify and eliminate in-phase defects
  • Perform project data analysis to drive root cause and correction action
  • Participate in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements are verified
  • Experience in gate reviews (e.g. Test Readiness, Ship Readiness)
  • Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity management
  • Experience leading, coaching and mentoring others in routine settings and complex situations.
  • Experience collaborating cross functionally with the other QA leads and functions
  • Experience participating in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements are verified
  • Experience in other functional areas such as engineering, supplier engineering, or operations.
  • Experience using interpersonal skills and working with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities.
  • Experience working with and technically interfacing with various engineering disciplines.
  • Experience using sound judgement and applying resolution-making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention.
  • Experience communicating verbally and in written communications and networking with other stakeholders.
  • Experience in audits, nonconformance review boards (MRB/FRB), and Quality Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of RTX/Raytheon/RMD policies and procedures
