About The Position

Plasman is seeking a Program Quality Engineer to join their ADVANCED MANUFACTURING LAUNCH team. This role will lead and support product and process quality activities across program launches and sustaining manufacturing. The Program Quality Engineer will partner with cross-functional teams, including program management, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers, to ensure product quality, drive continuous improvement, and meet customer part approvals and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, quality, or a related technical field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector supporting program launches and production.
  • Demonstrated experience with FMEA, PPAP, control plans, APQP, and other automotive quality tools and deliverables.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional problem solving and implement effective corrective actions (8D, root cause analysis).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and quality metrics; familiarity with Minitab or similar tools is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously while meeting milestones and delivering results.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF quality management systems and experience supporting audits.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with measurement systems analysis (MSA) and GD&T is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program-level quality activities from program kickoff through launch and into production, ensuring timely execution of quality plans and gate deliverables.
  • Ensure that product and process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contracts.
  • Lead cross-functional problem solving (8D, root cause analysis) for new model launch manufacturing issues; drive containment, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Work with suppliers to establish PPAP quality requirements and support supplier corrective action and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support production launches by conducting process audits, performing first article inspections, and ensuring readiness of measuring systems and inspection equipment.
  • Coordinate and oversee product validation and testing activities with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution and compliance with requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality management systems and standards (ISO/IATF) and support internal and external audits as required.
  • Provide training and coaching to production and engineering teams on quality methods, inspection techniques, and problem-solving tools.
