About The Position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Program Quality Assurance Engineer II to provide technical oversight for DoD ammunition production programs. This role ensures quality requirements are met, risks are mitigated, and customer documentation is timely and accurate. The engineer will analyze defects, trends, and root causes to improve product quality, cost, and schedule. Responsibilities include developing and implementing process control and improvement methods, testing procedures, and specialized test equipment. The role involves conducting product testing, evaluating defects, recommending corrective actions, and collaborating with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement. This position is crucial for maintaining high product quality and customer satisfaction within a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight for DoD ammunition production programs, ensuring quality requirements, risk mitigation, and timely, accurate customer documentation.
  • Analyze defects, trends, and root causes to improve product quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Develop and implement process control and improvement methods, testing procedures, and specialized test equipment.
  • Conduct product testing, evaluate defects, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead the implementation, maturity assessment, and improvement of all processes throughout the production lifecycle to improve customer satisfaction and increase profitability in a safe working environment.
  • Lead program team members to evaluate risks, problems, and solutions from a quality and customer/stakeholder point of view.
  • Identify Quality Assurance activities to mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with the program team to develop schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets for quality activities.
  • Validate that an effective internal controls system is in place to verify that processes continue to meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • Perform audits on program delivery and ensure the use of Quality data analytics to identify risks and nonconformances.
  • Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken.
  • Oversee program quality requirements, identify and mitigate program risks, and ensure on-time and accurate submission of Customer Deliverable Documentation Requirements.
  • Analyze program defects, conduct trend analysis, and perform root cause analysis as applicable to eliminate defects and improve product quality, cost, and schedule.
