About The Position

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking Program Planning Interns to join their team. The role involves supporting the preparation and maintenance of program schedules and plans. Interns will work closely with experienced Program Planners, performing day-to-day activities in program planning and scheduling. They will have the opportunity to learn and operate industry software such as Microsoft Project, Deltek Open Plan, Milestones Professional, and Schedule Risk Assessment tools. Responsibilities include preparing scheduling analysis and metrics, attending key program meetings, gathering program status, updating schedules, analyzing results, and using critical thinking to mitigate and drive successful program performance. This position is located at the Santa Barbara (Goleta), California facility.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Experiences achieving team-oriented objectives
  • Experiences developing and delivering presentations
  • Must be able to balance school schedule and work part-time during school year with ability to work full time during breaks
  • Must be able to work onsite
  • Must be commuting distance to work onsite

  • Schedule oriented mindset
  • Advanced Excel skill set including macros, lookup tables and VBA
  • Exposure to Monte Carlo simulations / Schedule Risk Assessment process/tools
  • Ability to communicate utilizing different techniques and build strong relationships
