Raytheon is seeking a Program Operations Manager (POM) for our NMESIS Production business to be located onsite in Louisville, KY. This is a key role leading the Operations pillar on the Integrated Product Leadership Team (IPLT) to ensure successful execution of its contracts. This position involves supporting manufacturing activities and requires spending time in the Louisville, KY factories. As a Program Operations Manager (POM) you will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in technical, programmatic, and manufacturing leadership roles. Successful candidates will drive the overall manufacturing execution of the contracts, which is the primary interface between the Program Office IPLT and the factory leadership, responsible for communicating all requirements to various manufacturing sites. Results will be accomplished through leading, influencing and briefing all levels of the organization, including internal and external customers. This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities, partnership with Program Operations program peers within the Naval Strike Missile portfolio and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. The preferred candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 40-hour work week, travel domestically and move between buildings and local facilities.

Requirements

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Eight (8) years of experience working within a Manufacturing, Operations, or a similar environment producing technically complex items at high rate.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • DoD Clearance: Secret

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Special Access Programs and Office 365
  • Experience with proposals, Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and USG contract negotiations
  • Earned Value Management System Certified
  • Previous leadership position in a fast paced technical or manufacturing environment that included multiple working organizations, including building strong cross-functional teams with proven results.
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodology (CORE) and/or tools such as lean manufacturing, diagnostic, process optimization and continuous improvement
  • Experience of the IPDS (Integrated Product Development System) and associated Gate activities
  • Experience and interest in verbal/visual presentations of Operations activities, plans, tasks, and/or delivery outlooks and Program-level information to internal and USG customers.
  • Experience with Technical Data Package (TDP) reviews and approval
  • Experience leading teams in cost reduction initiatives and manufacturing cycle time reduction

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations team cost, schedule, and quality
  • Manage the coordination and execution of manufacturing schedules with Global Supply Chain Management, Subcontracts, Engineering and other functional areas to support on time delivery
  • Support Manufacturing Operations strategy and utilize CORE best practices
  • Coordinate Operations bids for new factory-facing proposals
  • Interface with internal and external customers to understand needs and issues, ensuring the customers receive satisfactory standards of service
  • Define clear operational schedules, priorities & goals for each factory
  • Experience managing support plans and maintaining schedule in cross-functional, matrixed environment
