The Program Officer (Green Technology Deployment, Partnerships & Impact) position is located in the Climate Change and Food Security Unit within the Office of the Assistant Director General, Global Challenges and Partnerships Sector (GCPS). This Unit collaborates with other UN and intergovernmental organizations, the private sector, and civil society to influence policy discussions, highlighting the advantages of innovation, technology, and intellectual property in tackling global issues like climate change. WIPO GREEN, established in 2013, functions as a global marketplace connecting providers and seekers of green technologies, aiming to facilitate technology deployment and diffusion. It features a database with over 140,000 entries, acceleration projects, a network of over 160 partners, green technology coalitions, and finance partnerships. The incumbent's role is to drive the implementation and scaling of acceleration projects, translating technology matches into tangible deployment outcomes, investment prospects, and measurable socio-economic impact. The focus is on strategic partnerships and financing, aligning with WIPO’s mission to utilize intellectual property and innovation ecosystems to address climate change and food security challenges.
