Program Officer 2 – Equine Ranch Program (Las Vegas, NV)
About The Position
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Program Officer 2 in Las Vegas, NV. The major purpose of this job is to administer, supervise, plan, and help evaluate the 4-H horse/animal program and assist in the cottage foods/preserving workplan as directed by the Ranch Program Coordinator and Southern Area Director. The position will oversee and coordinate the horse related programs, 4-H volunteers, and future community-based instructors. The team is tasked to provide 4-H and other evidence-based education to the community across multiple target audiences including school aged children, youth, and adults. This position will provide direct supervision, training, education, and evaluation of all programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other discipline related to the program assignment and one year of professional experience in planning, coordinating and administering a program which included interpretation of laws and regulations; development of program policy and procedures; development and implementation of program performance standards and objectives for providing services; and development and implementation of eligibility requirements; OR Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR One year of experience as a Program Officer I in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
- Experience in horse care and animal husbandry.
Responsibilities
