About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced professional to be the lead Subcontract Program Manager for the Mission Systems Programs (MSP) portion of the Airborne Mission Systems (AMS) portfolio within the Mission Systems and Weapons (MSW) submarket segment. In this leadership role you will help shape program strategies, drive efficient execution, and manage a high‑performing team of subcontract professionals. You will work side‑by‑side with senior leaders within Program Management, Engineering, and other critical functional areas to help delivery exceptional results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive Subcontract Management, Contract Management, Program Management, or Engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or a high technology environment.
  • Proposal experience required
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Lockheed Martin Acquisition Procedures (LMAP)
  • Experience with LM Procure 2 Pay (P2P) & Exostar
  • Risk & Opportunity Management experience
  • Earned Value and/or Control Account Management (CAM) experience
  • Strong Negotiation Experience: demonstrated success negotiating high value, complex subcontracts.
  • Experience with international customers and/or suppliers, including import/export and International Trade Compliance (ITC) rules.
  • Master’s degree in Business and/or Engineering; preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with risk and opportunity management.
  • Deep understanding of Lockheed Martin Supply Chain Management processes, LMAP/CAP, FAR/DFARs, and Prime Contract Flow Down regulations.
  • Proven leadership experience leading cross functional teams, mentor talent, and drive cultural change.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Supply Chain Leadership – design and implement comprehensive subcontracting strategies that align with program objectives, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Team Management & Development – lead a team of subcontract professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, inclusion, and professional development.
  • Subcontract Negotiation & Administration – negotiate complex subcontracts, ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, and Lockheed Martin policies, and maximize program value.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation – proactively spot technical, schedule, cost, and compliance risks; develop and execute mitigation plans.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – build strong, collaborative relationships with internal partners (program management, engineering, finance) and external suppliers and government customers.
  • Proposal Support – staff and support all program proposal related activities, ensuring supply chain best practices are embedded in SOW development, RFP creation, negotiation, and bid strategy.
  • Travel – as required to support the needs of the programs.
