About The Position

BAE Systems is hiring a Program Manager to support our Weapons Systems division. This role will support the Virginia Payload Module (VPM) Programs as a critical demand to support the US Navy. If you have program management experience and supporting the US Military runs in your core, this role may be the perfect fit. This Program Manager role is located at our Louisville branch in the beautiful state of Kentucky. Here you will work with a diverse cross-functional team for the management and execution of the VPM Programs. You will be expected to help manage cost and schedule performance, risk and opportunity management, and support future business through proposal development and negotiation. You will collaborate with cross-functional leadership to ensure program success for timely delivery of critical components to support our US Navy. It is anticipated that this role will require up to 25% domestic travel to support program related meetings, customer engagements, and potential training events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 8 years of Program Management or equivalent experience
  • Understanding and execution in the development of managing budgets and schedules to drive performance
  • Firm understanding of Earned Value Management and best practices
  • Understanding of Integrated Master Schedule development and operations
  • Experience in working with US Government contracts
  • Demonstrated leadership skills working within a matrixed organization across functional boundaries
  • Strength and experience in planning and organization

  • MBA or Master’s Degree relevant to program management and 10+ yrs experience
  • Security Clearance
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience in leading complex programs
  • Experience in working projects for the US Military
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in communicating with senior leadership internally and externally
  • Experience in engineering, finance, and/or contracts management
  • Demonstrated track record of driving and supporting achievement of financial, schedule, and technical objectives on prior projects
