About The Position

The Program Manager of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is charged with supporting the Director of the OUR (Director) and advancing opportunities for undergraduate research as a high-impact educational practice to directly improve student success, consistent with UNLV’s Top Tier Student Achievement goals. The position works directly with the Director on projects and collaborates within the AVPUEHIP team, across campus, and in multiple areas of the student experience to expand, support, coordinate, and highlight undergraduate research at UNLV. As a key member of the OUR and AVPUEHIP leadership team, the Program Manager will work closely with Academic Affairs colleagues to ensure advancement of our mission to grow enrollment, promote excellence, be inclusive and equitable, innovate to provide leading edge 21st century academic experiences, improve student success, and lay a strong foundation for positive student outcomes while at UNLV and in their post-graduate lives. All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to our core mission: to increase enrollment and promote equitable student success. By addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support, this position will play a part in enhancing student enrollment, retention, successful progression, timely completion, and equitable outcomes, in order to meaningfully contribute to the institution's commitment to expand access, grow enrollment, and promote equitable student success. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • Minimum 3 years experience with academic research, either at the undergraduate or graduate level, in the humanities or STEM
  • 3+ years of program management
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date

Responsibilities

  • Centralization of data collection on undergraduate research
  • Development of infrastructure to support and reward undergraduate research
  • Coordination of university-wide research symposia on undergraduate research and other undergraduate research student programming
  • Provide assistance generating grant proposals and other efforts to raise funds to support undergraduate research
  • Development and administration of undergraduate research awards
  • Support for OUR publicity by coordinating website updates and posting on social media
  • Development of pipelines to recruit outstanding students to UNLV for undergraduate programs
