About The Position

The Center is seeking a Program Manager to oversee the ARPA-H PLOW (Precision Learning for On-target Weed control) program. This program aims to develop new artificial intelligence (AI) and high-throughput screening methods for small molecule design, focusing on creating safer, more efficacious agrichemicals that can be manufactured domestically. The research will involve synthetic biology and medicinal chemistry for molecule production, and the application of synthetic biology to create microbes for agrichemical degradation in soil. The Program Manager will facilitate the entire process from chemical design to synthesis, screening, and field testing with partners. The role involves managing the day-to-day operations and ARPA-H administration, coordinating research and interactions with the funding agency (US Army, Army Science and Technology Enterprise), liaising with participating universities, assisting with materials for regulatory approval, and other operational functions. This position will also include public presentations, communication with sponsors and research partners, and the writing of project reports and management of federal grants.
