About The Position

BHcare is developing a new Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Substance Use Disorder treatment program (ASAM 3.5) in the Greater New Haven area. This program will provide a highly structured, trauma-informed, and person-centered setting for female-identifying adults with moderate to severe substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions. The program is designed to support individuals in reducing substance use, building sustainable recovery skills, and enhancing overall health and functioning. This is a 40-hour-per-week onsite position with a schedule of Tuesday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As an Onsite Essential Staff position, the incumbent is required to report to work during inclement weather and other emergency situations, as business needs require. Candidates must reside in Connecticut to be eligible for this position.

Requirements

Master’s degree in a behavioral health field (MSW preferred)
Identify as female (Bona Fide Occupational Qualification exception)
Active, independent clinical license in Connecticut
5+ years in substance use treatment, including residential experience
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients as needed
Reside in Connecticut

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of a women’s residential SUD treatment program
Ensure delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based care
Oversee programming, engagement, and compliance with ASAM standards
Supervise and mentor clinical staff, peer specialists, and residential team members
Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development
Facilitate team meetings and provide individual and group supervision
Ensure adherence to ASAM criteria, regulatory standards, and payer requirements
Monitor documentation quality and program performance
Prepare for and participate in audits and accreditation reviews
Partner with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
Provide clinical support and coverage when needed (assessments, groups, crisis intervention)
Build relationships with families, community partners, and referral sources
