About The Position

FITT Scientific seeks a Project Manager with a strong Army maintenance background to lead installation logistics services at Fort Stewart. The PM will oversee maintenance, supply, and transportation operations, serve as the principal onsite contractor representative, and have authority to act on behalf of FITT for all matters relating to the contract. The successful candidate will translate maintenance expertise into sound workload planning, equipment readiness, workforce management, and accountable contract performance across all three functions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading Army or comparable DoD equipment maintenance operations, including responsibility for maintenance personnel, production control, repair parts coordination, and equipment readiness.
  • A maintenance leadership background is required.
  • Experience managing a substantial workforce through supervisors or functional leads, with accountability for staffing, workload allocation, performance, and customer service.
  • Working knowledge of AR 750-1, DA PAM 750-1, DA PAM 750-8, TAMMS, technical manuals, and the Command Maintenance Discipline Program; ability to apply these requirements in daily operations.
  • Experience using GCSS-Army or comparable Army logistics systems to oversee work orders, maintenance status, repair parts, and reporting.
  • Ability to oversee integrated maintenance, supply, and transportation services and coordinate with military units and Government logistics personnel.
  • Ability to manage performance metrics, corrective actions, labor budgets, funding constraints, and contract deliverables; strong written communication and briefing skills.
  • Ability to work onsite, meet installation access and CAC eligibility requirements, complete required background vetting and drug screening, and maintain any security clearance required for assigned duties before starting that work.
  • Availability during normal operational hours and for Government contact outside those hours, with designated alternate PM coverage when absent.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior PM, Deputy PM, Maintenance Manager, or senior maintenance leadership experience on an Army EAGLE, LRC, installation logistics, or comparable support effort.
  • Experience managing cost reimbursement contracts, multiple funding streams, subcontractors, and a workforce covered by a collective bargaining agreement or Service Contract Act requirements.
  • Experience with contract transitions, mobilization or deployment support, surge staffing, and measurable improvement in maintenance throughput, readiness, or backlog reduction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, management, engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent military or industry experience is valued.
  • PMP or comparable project management certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily contract execution through functional managers and supervisors; coordinate contractor and subcontractor personnel, resolve operating issues, and maintain continuity of services.
  • Direct field and limited sustainment maintenance of tactical and commercial equipment.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance checks and services, technical inspections, repair execution, allied trades, repair parts, and production control.
  • Manage maintenance priorities, work order backlogs, labor utilization, parts availability, and equipment status.
  • Ensure work follows applicable technical publications, Army maintenance policy, and approved customer priorities.
  • Integrate maintenance with supply and transportation support so parts, property, equipment movement, and customer requirements are coordinated without disrupting the mission.
  • Serve as the primary interface with the Contracting Officer, COR, LRC leadership, and supported organizations.
  • Attend required briefings and performance reviews; provide timely status, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee recruiting, staffing, retention, training, licenses, and certifications.
  • Match personnel to workload and funding, maintain alternate PM coverage, and ensure contractor supervisors direct contractor employees.
  • Manage labor charging, funding visibility, cost forecasts, and required reports with corporate finance and contracts.
  • Obtain required approvals for overtime and changes to contract scope.
  • Lead transition planning, inventories, property and work-in-progress handoffs, and surge and contingency response.
  • Coordinate workforce augmentation and operational readiness within contract timelines.
  • Enforce safety, environmental, security, and property accountability requirements.
  • Work with the independent onsite quality control representative and corporate quality office to resolve findings and prevent recurrence.
