About The Position

AMHC is seeking a Program Manager of Children’s Case Management in either Aroostook, Hancock, or Washington County, to provide system-wide administrative, operational, and managerial leadership for Children’s Community Case Management services. This position ensures consistent, high-quality, family-centered case management services across locations and programs while supporting coordinated behavioral, physical, educational, and social care for children and families. The Program Manager oversees program operations, workforce planning, staff development, quality and compliance, performance monitoring, program development, and continuous improvement. This position works closely with the Program Director, clinical leaders, outpatient leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to support effective and accessible services.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Health Care, or a related field required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in behavioral health, social services, case management, or a related human services setting required.
1-2 years of previous supervisory or program management experience is required.
Ability to pass a background check and meet all licensing, credentialing, and regulatory requirements.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative, operational, and managerial oversight of children’s case management programs and services.
Establish consistent case management practices, workflows, service access processes, expectations, and quality standards.
Assess service needs, referrals, waitlists, staffing levels, caseload capacity, and program performance to identify and address service gaps.
Lead the development, implementation, enhancement, and evaluation of children’s case management services.
Translate organizational goals into operational priorities, measurable expectations, and action plans.
Coordinate case management operations with agency leadership and other services.
Provide direct supervision and managerial leadership to children’s case management supervisors and assigned staff.
Establish clear performance expectations and promote consistent supervisory practices.
Monitor staffing needs and make recommendations regarding recruitment, position development, caseload distribution, and workforce capacity.
Support recruitment, selection, onboarding, orientation, retention, and professional development.
Monitor staff qualifications, training, certifications, and competencies.
Conduct or coordinate performance evaluations and support staff development.
Facilitate regular leadership and program meetings to promote communication, collaboration, accountability, and problem-solving.
Ensure services and records comply with AMHC policies, licensing and regulatory requirements, contracts, and third-party payer requirements.
Monitor the quality, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of assessments, service plans, progress notes, supervisory records, and other required documentation.
Use program data, quality indicators, audits, caseload information, and feedback to identify trends and improve services.
Develop and monitor performance indicators and communicate significant trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
Support staff and supervisors with complex cases, barriers to care, transitions between services, and coordination with crisis or emergency resources.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with primary care practices, schools, hospitals, state agencies, community providers, and referral partners.
Represent AMHC in local and statewide discussions related to children’s case management and services for children and families.
Promote awareness of children’s case management services and educate referral sources regarding eligibility, available supports, and access pathways.
Strengthen community partnerships to improve referrals, care coordination, and continuity of services.
Work across agency programs to support coordinated, family-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed services.
Identify opportunities to expand, redesign, and improve children’s case management services.
Develop recommendations regarding staffing, service capacity, workflows, and program infrastructure.
Partner with the Children’s Program Manager and Program Director to evaluate new service opportunities and operational needs.
Support implementation of new services, teams, locations, contracts, and service models as approved.
Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
