About The Position

The Charles Lea Center in Spartanburg, SC, is seeking compassionate and energetic individuals to join their team as a Program Manager. This role is an opportunity to support people with disabilities in living full, independent lives. As a Program Manager, you will oversee CLC's two locations in Spartanburg, SC, ensuring regulatory compliance, effective operations, and high-quality, person-centered services for individuals with disabilities and special needs. This role involves supervising and supporting Lead DSPs and DSPs, maintaining facility operations, and, under the guidance of the Assistant Director, supporting individuals in achieving meaningful goals, community involvement, and independence.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Services or, AA with a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in Human Services, or High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience in Human Services
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license and Social Security number
  • Ability to type 70+ WPM and navigate basic computer systems
  • Must pass background checks, DMV screening, Medicaid exclusion, fingerprinting (if SC resident <1 year), and provide 3 professional references

Responsibilities

  • Implement, manage, monitor, and evaluate assigned programs in accordance with established standards.
  • Oversee daily program operations and ensure assigned facilities are safe, functional, and in optimal condition.
  • Ensure the wants, needs, preferences, and personal goals of persons supported are honored and actively supported.
  • Provide intervention and leadership during emergencies and hospitalizations.
  • Support admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure continuity of services.
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to Lead DSPs and DSPs.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director and Human Resources in recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating staff.
  • Facilitate training opportunities to improve service quality and ensure staff maintain required certifications.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and ensure appropriate coverage at all times.
  • Provide coverage and support to other Program Managers as needed.
  • Manage conflict using person-centered coaching and professional problem-solving strategies.
  • Foster leadership development for self and direct reports.
  • Provide direct guidance to ensure person-centered services and individualized supports.
  • Gain an understanding of each individual’s abilities, interests, and preferences to support employment, life goals, and independence.
  • Collaborate with Community Supports Leadership to develop and expand diversified services.
  • Promote community involvement and meaningful relationships for persons supported.
  • Participate in Collaborative Support Plan (CSP) meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Monitor DSP documentation weekly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Utilize designated electronic health record systems for daily documentation and communication.
  • Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports and statistics.
  • Assist in gathering and submitting information related to critical incident reports and Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE) investigations within required timelines.
  • Participate in corrective action planning, audits, and licensing/compliance reviews.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain program and/or home budgets responsibly.
  • Collaborate with Innovative Services on the use of technology to support skill development and independence.
  • Coordinate and implement recommendations from therapeutic and clinical meetings.
  • Ensure all safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements are maintained.
  • Initiate additional training opportunities as available through contracted or community supports.
