Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience working in an RTC as a BHP or similar role.
  • Previous management experienced preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge of CRM and M35 systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the behavioral health team provides adequate supervision of clients and adheres to all company supervision and safety protocols.
  • Monitors the implementation of interventions to ensure that they align with each client's individualized treatment plan, are trauma informed and seeks clinical clarification and support as needed.
  • Communicates effectively and consistently with the residential team to ensure important program information is being shared effectively.
  • Spends routine time observing on the floor to monitor and supervise behavioral health professionals' performance and provide support, coaching and training as needed.
  • Support the training of BHP staff in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Staffing Supervisor.
  • Ensure the daily schedule is adhered to and clients arrive to groups on time.
  • Conduct and record 1:1 supervision with direct reports as scheduled and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Report unresolved staff concerns to the HR Manager and Director of Operations for corrective action or investigation.
  • Report and record scheduling conflicts and call outs.
  • Provide direct support during interventions and crises as needed and will serve as a role model to the team by building rapport with clients within appropriate professional boundaries; and creates opportunities for clients to develop skills and practice emotional regulation.
  • Participates in crisis debrief meeting and collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to improve preventative measures to reduce crisis events.
  • Responds to calls through a rotating on-call schedule with the co-manager.
  • Ensures the team completes daily progress notes, incident reports, medication reports, evening rounds and updates the team communication log on each shift worked. These responsibilities can be delegated to a lead staff, but the manager is responsible and accountable.
  • Ensure monthly fire drills are completed each month per SOP (can be delegated to a supervisor but ultimately the manager is responsible)
  • Familiarity of company policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity of applicable licensing/accreditation regulations which includes but is not limited to timely and professional documentation, routine staff supervision and prompt corrective action, adherence to standing operating procedures and ensuring residents rights are not violated.
  • Ensure the team provides a safe and therapeutic treatment environment. This requires communication and collaboration with the facilities and leadership team to ensure the facility is clean, safe and has the resources it needs.
  • Support clients as needed by meeting with them individually or with BHP staff to implement interventions and support the client with developing skills and regulating their emotions.
  • Lead groups as requested and ensure the team implements and documents all scheduled groups.
  • Attend and actively participate in growth/closure groups to celebrate client successes.
  • Ensure clients call home in accordance with the schedule and report any challenges to the clinical team.
  • Monitor client progress by reading progress notes and talking with BHP staff to better understand how each client is doing in the residential setting
  • Participate in individual treatment planning for clients by attending weekly treatment team meetings, which includes reporting client progress and multidisciplinary collaborative problem solving.
  • Collaborate routinely with the multidisciplinary team leadership to discuss client cases and program challenges.
  • Foster inclusivity and collaboration within the multidisciplinary team environment across departments.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly leadership meetings.
  • Attend and actively participate in at least one monthly staff team building/training (SBT).
