We are seeking individuals inspired by impact, energized by growth, and ready to help co-create brighter futures. The Bank On Fellow will lead and grow the Bank On Miami-Dade Coalition initiative. This role involves building and managing cross-sector partnerships with financial institutions, government agencies, community organizations, and regulators to expand access to safe, affordable banking for unbanked and underbanked residents. By coordinating coalition activities, aligning financial products with Bank On National Standards, and integrating banking access into existing programs, the Fellow will strengthen financial inclusion efforts and support Branches’ mission to empower families toward financial wellness. This Fellowship role reflects Branches’ commitment to building brighter financial futures for individuals and families in South Florida, while contributing to the national Bank On network of best practices and innovation.

Requirements

Bachelors degree or at least six years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Experience working with multiple stakeholders (e.g., government, financial institutions, nonprofits, or community groups)
Experience coordinating projects, programs, or partnerships
Experience facilitating meetings, conversations, or group processes.
Experience with coalition-building or community engagement.
Familiarity with financial empowerment, banking, or economic inclusion issues
Experience using data to inform strategy or decision-making
Experience working with or alongside government or financial institutions
Reliable transportation is essential

Nice To Haves

Masters degree in Business, Social Science, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work performed
Experience in grant writing/budget management

Responsibilities

Cultivate new and existing relationships with a wide range of partners, including government agencies, financial institutions, community organizations, and funders.
Coordinate and enhance a vibrant multi-sector coalition working towards the shared purpose of enhancing banking access in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
Build momentum and sustain engagement of partners in the coalition.
Design Bank On Coalition strategy, manage Bank On program budget, oversee Bank On team (as applicable).
Track, analyze and report data about Bank On activities.
Fundraise for the coalition.
Lead and participate in conversations with key local stakeholders about partnership opportunities and alignment in Bank On goals.
Introduce Bank On to local financial institutions to support the availability and growth of Bank On certified accounts.
Communicate effectively in both large presentations and small, facilitated discussions.
Lead the Bank On messaging clearly on why access to safe, affordable banking matters.
Adapt messaging to different audiences (e.g. financial institutions, regulators, government agencies, service providers, etc.).
Use knowledge of community needs and existing systems to prioritize the most impactful direction of the Bank On coalition’s efforts.
Identify and cultivate opportunities to incorporate banking access into existing programs.
Lead meetings with service providers to better assess and develop local coalition initiatives.
Identify and cultivate relationships with local funders and public funding source entities to seek ongoing public and private support to ensure the program remains financially sustainable.
Serve as a resource to the community around banking and financial empowerment issues.
Create an appropriate marketing and outreach strategy to reach unbanked local residents.
Lead forums and manage external relationships to communicate the value and mission of the Bank On program.
Work with the CFE Fund to inform the local Bank On program model and coordinate the Fellowship cohort initiative.
Actively participate in Bank On Fellowship cohort and learning community opportunities.
Assist in reporting to the CFE Fund on Fellowship activities and program progress.
Contribute to peer learning across cities.
