An open, fully funded position for a Program Manager is available in the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's & Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA) ( https://biggsinstitute.org/ ). We are looking for an exceptional candidate with expertise in grant research program management to join a collaborative team of clinicians, epidemiologists, and statisticians conducting state-of-the art research on dementia. The position provides opportunities to work with Investigators conducting research on dementia as part of the NIA-funded South Texas Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (STAC). The Program Manager will be responsible for managing two international consortiums- the Neurology working group of the Cross-Cohort collaboration consortium (CCC) and the NeuroCHARGE consortium, under the guidance of Drs. Seshadri, Satizabal, and Goss. They work with some of the world’s largest cohorts, including the famous Framingham Heart Study as well as local population studies in South Texas such as the 40-year-old San Antonio Heart Study. They will coordinate and participate in a variety of complex activities related to program administration, progress reporting, and the development and communication of operating procedures, practices and guidelines. The program manager will also provide oversight on an NIH-funded conference (Neurepiomics), that is directly related to CCC and NeuroCHARGE. They will help finalize speaker lists, trainee applications, and agendas for the conference. T The candidate will perform diverse research and administrative duties requiring sound judgment. The candidate must be self-motivated, independent in task completion, and comfortable accepting feedback and guidance from colleagues. The ability to work well in a team and excellent communication skills are a must. The Program Manager is expected to oversee and coordinate the work needed to initiate and conduct these research programs, ensure adherence to Institutional Review Board guidelines, and report progress to NIH.
