Job Description: The Manager is responsible for supervising operational activities at multiple facilities and providing clinical management of rehab services to the patient populations served by the facility. This shall include the direction, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of the professional staff, supportive staff, and students providing rehab services to patients. The Manager will also perform the duties of a clinical therapist. This position is also responsible for coordination of interdepartmental functions and activities to ensure smooth and effective operations consistent with the objectives of the facility, Community Based Rehab, and Frazier Rehab Institute.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical, occupational, or speech therapy from a college/university accredited by the respective national accrediting body (required)
  • Four (4) years of recent clinical experience in an environment commensurate with the practice setting and programmatic needs of the facility.
  • Demonstrates effective physician relations, communication skills, organizational skills, and managerial skills (required)
  • Supervisory experience (required)
  • Licensed or eligible in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or State of Indiana, as appropriate to the facility (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or Doctorate level degree in related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains effective communication regarding therapy programs, facility programs, and departmental/programmatic issues
  • Communicates patient status by providing timely written or verbal communication to physicians and therapy customers
  • Clearly communicates evaluation results, treatment plan, and goals to patients and/or family; providing written information when applicable
  • Actively participates in departmental/programmatic meetings, constructively expressing concerns and ideas
  • Orients new personnel in accordance with department standards
  • Consistently establishes and maintains effective working relations with: patient and family internal customers external customers
  • Demonstrates effective fiscal management of the areas of responsibility for multiple locations
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the financial implications of treatment costs and resources on the department/facility by consistently working to provide cost effective treatment programming to served populations
  • Develops and manages budgets for multiple locations
  • Ensures that patient charges and corresponding clinical documentation are in compliance with regulatory standards and department policies and procedures
  • Assesses the need for purchase of new equipment and supplies and communicates this information on a timely basis to the Director
  • Manages department personnel for multiple locations in a manner that ensures the highest quality of services and according to organization and department policies and procedures
  • Develops a department personnel schedule to maintain adequate staffing to provide services to the patients at the facility.
  • Works with other facility managers to ensure effective use of staff throughout Community Based Rehab
  • Provides appropriate supervision of personnel to maintain smooth operations of services
  • Ensures that all new team members complete organization and department orientation
  • Monitors and reviews work of personnel to ensure that productivity, standards of practice, and regulatory requirements are consistently met
  • Effectively coaches and counsel’s supervisors and department personnel to facilitate optimum team member performance
  • Encourages supervisor and staff participation in program development, performance improvement activities, and community events sponsored by the organization
  • Completes and reviews annual performance appraisals with supervisors and team members according to the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Responds to team members’ concerns by demonstrating effective listening skills, problem solving skills, and participatory management when situations require intervention.
  • Communicates issues with the Director or Administration as appropriate
  • Leads and manages department operations for multiple locations in a manner that ensures the highest quality of services and according to organization and department policies and procedures
  • Ensures that the department is continually in compliance with all regulatory standards, organization policies and procedures, and department policies and procedures
  • Facilitates inter- and intra- department interactions by first identifying and evaluating the situation, and then effectively communicating within and between the respective parties
  • Develops and enhances relationships with referring providers
