You are responsible for the overall leadership, management and operational delivery of the City’s LRT property access and corridor management programs, providing expert real estate advice and program oversight to support innovative property solutions that advance the City of Ottawa’s strategic, fiscal and community sustainability objectives. You exercise delegated authority for the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex property access, corridor management, third-party property rights, and encroachment review activities, ensuring that corporate LRT realty interests are protected, optimized, and aligned with Council approved priorities, capital programs, transit operations, and legislative requirements. Programs, services, projects and activities include: The property access and corridor management program, including authorization and coordination of access to LRT properties and rights-of-way for internal and external stakeholders; The review and management of corridor encroachments, third-party property rights, easements, licences, agreements, and other interests affecting LRT properties and operations; The provision of expert advice and direction to client departments, project teams, utilities, developers, and external agencies regarding property access, operational constraints, safety requirements, and impacts to LRT infrastructure and service delivery; Liaison with elected officials, senior leadership, transit operations, emergency services, utilities, other levels of government, regulatory agencies, and the public regarding access requests, corridor use, third-party interests, and opportunities to support the safe and efficient operation of the City’s LRT network. You are also responsible for the management of the unit’s human, financial, and contractual resources, as well as the development and maintenance of effective partner relationships.
