About The Position

The Program Manager, Policy & Federal Advocacy supports a range of Practice & Policy Division initiatives and AAAAI constituent groups. Together with the Director of Practice & Policy, the program manager is responsible for the federal policy work of the AAAAI, including working with volunteers and consultants on legislative, regulatory and public policy issues.

  • 3-5 years of association management and program development experience

Responsibilities

  • Support the Advocacy Committee, managing staff functions and providing direct administrative support with regard to meetings, conference calls, minutes and reports to the Board of Directors.
  • With the Director of Practice and Policy and other P&P team members, provide support of the process of proposal, development and approval for Practice, Diagnostics and Therapeutics (PDT) projects, and manage the approval process for proposed surveys of AAAAI members with PDT leadership.
  • Prepare information for posting to the AAAAI website on federal advocacy activities and keep information related to position responsibilities current and accurate, working with the Direct of Practice and Policy and Communications staff.
  • Prepare and disseminate information to members including special calls to action, legislative and regulatory updates and related issues, working with the Director of Practice and Policy and communications staff. Lead development and design of an annual advocacy report.
  • Work with other members of the P&P team to maintain the AAAAI Action Center, keeping priority campaigns and background information up to date and accurate, while drafting new campaigns when necessary.
  • Work with other P&P team members in engagement with payers. Participate in related work groups from other organizations to track and analyze information on related issues for specialty impact and provide information to P&P team members and volunteers. Develop proactive outreach with volunteers and staff.
  • When appropriate, represent the AAAAI and its interests as needed in various public policy and advocacy capacities.
  • Serve as liaison to various assigned committees and constituencies within the AAAAI. Coordinate and facilitate meetings, Zoom and conference calls and other activities; take and distribute minutes; provide support as needed to achieve objectives.
  • Weekend and evening work as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
