About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Program Manager provides clinical expertise and operational oversight to ensure high-quality, evidence-based, and legally compliant school health services. This role aligns practice with policy by supervising nursing programs, ensuring regulatory compliance under IDEA and Section 504, and promoting best practices within DPS. By collaborating with leadership and stakeholders, the manager advances health equity and supports student academic achievement and holistic well-being.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an Accredited College or University, area of expertise School Nursing, pediatric critical care and/or pediatric nursing
  • Three (3+) years of school nursing, public health, pediatric critical care and/or pediatric nursing experience is required
  • Current active and unencumbered Colorado (or compact) DORA Registered Nurse License is required
  • Current active Colorado Department of Education Special Provider license (Proof of application submission, if new) is required
  • Current BLS Certificate is required
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and ability to meet District insurability requirements
  • Knowledge with Google products including Docs, Sheets and Gmail
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to train, teach and develop nursing educational material and professional learning
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of districtwide student health programs and clinical initiatives to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local regulations including IDEA, Section 504, immunization statutes, and Colorado public health mandates
  • Establish and monitor clinical standards for student health services by developing and maintaining districtwide protocols, procedures, and program guidelines to ensure consistent implementation across DPS schools
  • Provide clinical program supervision and support through clinical guidance and mentorship to Nursing Services team members. For example, medically complex cases with management of chronic health conditions and 1:1 medical Dedicated Adult Services health related components of IEP/Section 504
  • Ensure adherence to clinical documentation standards through audit processes, quality assurance reviews, and continuous improvement practices
  • Design and facilitate professional learning for nursing staff and health office personnel, including new staff orientation, ongoing competency validation, and training in culturally responsive and evidence based practices
  • Analyze student health program data and trends in collaboration with the Director to inform strategic planning, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement of student health services
  • Support development of community partnerships, grant proposals, and regulatory compliance reporting related to student health programs
  • Other duties as assigned
