About The Position

The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is seeking a seasoned permanent, full-time Program Manager, APEC Networks. Reporting to the Vice-President, Research, the Program Manager will lead APF Canada’s engagement with key stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and Distinguished Fellows networks, including supporting Canadian members of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). The role involves managing relationships with government officials, senior executives, business leaders, and other stakeholders; leading APEC-related initiatives; supervising the APEC Networks Officer and relevant contractors; and supporting Canada’s engagement in regional and multilateral forums. This position requires extensive domestic and international travel throughout the year, including travel to support meetings, events, and other program activities. The successful candidate will be based in Vancouver on a hybrid work arrangement.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as economics, public administration, business administration, political science, or international political economy
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience managing stakeholder networks and large-scale projects
  • Experience working with or in multilateral organizations
  • Experience supporting senior public- and private-sector officials
  • Experience preparing high-level briefings and policy materials
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong diplomacy skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Preparing policy reports, briefings, and recommendations for senior officials and ABAC CEOs
  • Managing international meetings, consultations, and events
  • Leading the work of Canada’s APEC Study Centres
  • Monitoring developments relevant to APEC, ABAC, PECC, and the Asia Pacific region
  • Contributing to APF Canada’s broader research and strategic initiatives
  • Managing relationships with government officials, senior executives, business leaders, and other stakeholders
  • Leading APEC-related initiatives
  • Supervising the APEC Networks Officer and relevant contractors
  • Supporting Canada’s engagement in regional and multilateral forums
