About The Position

Pilot Company is seeking an Income Tax Intern to join their team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in tax compliance, making a significant impact by helping to complete essential summer tax compliance tasks while being mentored by experienced staff. In this role, the intern will be an integral part of the Income Tax team, supporting critical tax compliance efforts during a busy period and contributing to the timely and accurate filing of various tax returns and schedules. This internship offers practical application of tax principles and growth within a supportive team dedicated to developing its people.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting.
• Proficiency in Excel is essential.

Nice To Haves

• A master's concentration in tax is a plus.
• Experience with MS Access or other tax preparation software is a great advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate submissions for the heavy summer workload.
• Support data analysis using large datasets with Excel and Power Query.
• Receive hands-on training and real-world experience through mentorship from staff.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of onboarding and tax preparation processes with work and fresh perspectives.
