About The Position

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Program Instructor teaches community health promotion programs, with a focus on Chronic Disease Programs. Programs are conducted at various community locations throughout the Corewell Health service area in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. The role includes following program curriculum protocols, using presentation and counseling skills, adapting educational messages for diverse audiences, entering program data, handling equipment and supplies, and maintaining records.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Attend work on schedule and follow proper procedures when canceling a work assignment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to deliver instruction, facilitate group discussions, and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
• Strong written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Two years of relevant experience teaching in the health field, education field, Public Health, or Community Health.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of program curriculum.
• Implement health promotion programs according to procedures in training materials.
• Ensure accurate results and information are provided to participants.
• Promote participant and employee safety.
• Maintain accurate records and safeguard equipment, supplies, data, and monies.
• Complete mandatory trainings and self-education modules required by the Program Manager.
• Work cooperatively with the Program Manager, office staff, community organizations, and fellow instructors.
• Attend work as scheduled and follow proper procedures when canceling an assignment.
• Develop and maintain a culture of service excellence with internal and external customers, physicians, and volunteers in accordance with Corewell Health values.
