About The Position

Recreation Program Instructors will deliver high-quality recreation programs for a variety of ages which may include children, youth, adults and older adults. Program areas may include arts & crafts, games, sports, dance, general interest, wellness, etc.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Experience leading programs in a recreation environment
  • Skills and knowledge in a program area such as arts & crafts, games, sports, dance etc.
  • Strong Customer Service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Police Clearance
  • Vulnerable Sector Check

Nice To Haves

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C and High Five’s Principles of Healthy Child Development are assets

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver recreation programs for a variety of age groups which may include children, youth, adults and older adults
  • Ensure safety of participants while taking part in programs
  • Provides an inclusive, welcoming, safe environment, and excellent customer service.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including attendance, incident reports, and other administrative duties as required.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies by following established procedures and administering first aid when required.
  • Maintain professional and positive relationships with participants, staff, and the public as representatives of the City of Niagara Falls.
  • Maintains good relations with staff and public at all times as a City of Niagara Falls representative.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
