About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a federal government client on an as-needed basis. The responsibilities include the routine analysis, assessment, and buildout of Navy program finance to support the client's quarterly and fiscal year requirements. The ideal candidate will quickly adapt to and learn the client’s requirements, policies, and regulations that govern the funding of Department of the Navy (DoN) budgets, particularly within Supply, Support, and Acquisition. This position allows for continued development of financial management skills within the federal government accounting sphere, specifically within the DoN. It requires an understanding of Navy financial planning, obligation and expenditure tracking, financial drills for meeting benchmarks, the NAVSEA enterprise planning system, various contract types, and working with the BFM for timely fund execution. This role is located in Washington, D.C.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience delivering financial analysis and management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Teams, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create reports that reflect financial planning and execution.
  • Ability to identify financial risks early and collaborate across technical teams to develop solutions.
  • Ability to communicate financial insights effectively.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting a Navy Systems Command or Program Management Office.
  • Experience with Navy financial systems such as the Program and Budget Information System (PBIS), Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), NAVSEA Enterprise Digital Capabilities (EDC), NAVSEA Enterprise Planning System (NEPS), or NAVSEA Computer Optimized Batch Reconciliation Application (COBRA).
  • Experience developing spend plans.
  • Knowledge of Navy financial processes and requirements development.
  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
