About The Position

The Program Expansion Specialist will develop and implement recruitment and expansion plans for priority growth areas, identifying prospective sites, communities, partnership opportunities, visibility needs, and staffing capacity required to support new programming. This role involves identifying, researching, and cultivating prospective school, district, community, and organizational partnerships through outreach, meetings, presentations, and consistent follow-up to support CBP expansion. The specialist will collaborate closely with Area Sr. Managers and CBP leadership to identify expansion priorities, assess operational and staffing capacity, and develop strategies for sustainable program growth. Additionally, they will assess staffing needs associated with expansion goals and develop targeted recruitment strategies and pipelines through various channels. The role supports candidate screening and interviews to expedite hiring and meet staffing needs. The specialist will also identify and coordinate strategic outreach, tabling, recruitment, and community engagement opportunities to increase visibility, build staffing pipelines, and generate new program partnerships. This position requires representing GSNorCal and Community-Based Programs professionally at external meetings, community events, recruitment events, and partnership opportunities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in community engagement, partnership development, outreach, recruitment, program expansion, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, cultivate, and maintain effective relationships with schools, community organizations, external partners, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal, presentation, and outreach skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and independently move work forward, including identifying opportunities, developing next steps, conducting outreach, and maintaining consistent follow-through.
  • Successful track record in a role that demands managing multiple projects, multitasking, and prioritizing in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in the most current versions of Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and ability to use the Internet and learn/use specialized or proprietary software.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable vehicle required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the CBP footprint, typically within approximately two hours of the employee's primary work location, to attend prospective partner meetings, recruitment activities, community events, and other expansion-related activities.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish, or another language, and English.
  • Knowledge of Girl Scout mission and programs.
  • Experience working with schools, school districts, colleges/universities, workforce development organizations, or other community-based partners.
  • Familiarity with communities within the GSNorCal/Community-Based Programs service area.
