About The Position

Responsible for daily deliveries of the Food Bank's Mobile Pantry, Senior Food Delivery, and Just in Time Delivery programs. This position involves driving and operating company vehicles safely, loading and unloading products, assisting partner staff, and maintaining vehicles. The role also includes assisting with food distribution operations, providing customer service, and serving as backup to warehouse personnel as needed. The associate will work independently and collaboratively to support the mission of the Food Bank and adhere to safety standards and the Employee Code of Conduct.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Possess a valid New York State driver's license.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Load and deliver program orders as scheduled.
Unload products and assist partner staff at sites.
Drives and operates company vehicles in a safe manner and follows all traffic laws.
Assists in the proper handling and storage of products.
Assists with food distribution operations.
Maintains van in good operating and physical condition – refuels, adds fluids, and cleans vehicles inside and out daily.
Reports vehicle issues or problems to the Transportation Director.
Provides excellent customer service to agencies and outside contacts.
Serve as backup to warehouse personnel as needed and time permits.
Work with appropriate staff to identify and select appropriate products as necessary.
Follows all safety standards and procedures.
Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
Adheres to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
