About The Position

This position serves dual roles within the Center on Disability and Flourishing and the PEAKS+ project funded by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Within the Center on Disability and Flourishing, the position supports the preparation of graduates and the development of professional competencies focused on disability, learning and behavior disorders, and inclusion. Responsibilities include contributing to the design, coordination, and implementation of competency-based learning experiences that prepare students to understand disability through evidence-based, interdisciplinary, and tiered frameworks. This work may involve providing professional development activities, designing applied learning opportunities, and building collaborative initiatives that advance student competencies in disability-related research, practice, leadership, and service. The position strengthens the Center's capacity to prepare graduate students who can promote inclusion, accessibility, belonging, and flourishing for individuals with disabilities across educational, community, and professional settings. Through the PEAKS+ project, the position supports the training of Texas educators and paraprofessionals in evidence-based practices for students with disabilities. Responsibilities include coordinating professional development and coaching activities, collaborating with Education Service Centers and school partners, and supporting project implementation and evaluation efforts.

Requirements

  • A master's degree
  • Less than one year of relevant experience
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development, coordination, and implementation of graduate learning experiences, professional development activities, and applied training opportunities focused on disability, inclusion, accessibility, and flourishing
  • Support graduate students in building professional competencies related to disability research, evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, inclusive systems, and strengths-oriented approaches to supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Contribute to Center on Disability and Flourishing projects, events, mentoring structures, and collaborative activities that promote inclusion, belonging, leadership development, and improved outcomes for individuals with disabilities across educational, community, and professional settings
  • Assist in developing and maintaining partnerships with faculty, schools, community organizations, and service providers to create applied learning, practicum, research, and service opportunities that strengthen graduate student preparation in disability and inclusion
  • Coordinate and support professional development, consultation, and coaching to educators and paraprofessionals; collaborating with Education Service Centers and school partners; and assisting with project data collection, fidelity monitoring, and evaluation activities
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
