About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Program Director for its Center for Hope serving Newburgh, New York. The role focuses on creating a positive, supportive environment where young people can grow, learn, and build confidence through activities that promote personal development and community involvement. The position pays $32.20 per hour.

The Program Director develops and implements educational, recreational, and social programs tailored to young people’s needs and interests. The role manages staff and volunteers, collaborates with community partners, develops and implements policies and procedures, monitors program progress, and adjusts programs as needed. The Director builds relationships with youth participants, community leaders, and stakeholders, and keeps current with trends and best practices in youth development and program management. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, positive, energetic, engaging, and enjoys working with teens.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 1 year of experience working with at-risk children or adolescents.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• A deep understanding of the needs of the youth served and the ability to design programs that address those needs.
• Self-motivated, positive, high-energy, and engaging, with an interest in working with teens.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs and activities for young people, including educational, recreational, and social activities.
• Manage a team of staff and volunteers.
• Work closely with community partners to ensure programs meet the needs of youth.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures.
