About The Position

D&S Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, provides community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of one to four community-based programs serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This role requires strong leadership, organization, and a hands-on approach to ensure high-quality, person-centered services. The Program Director will manage a caseload of up to 30-35 individuals and travel regularly to group homes, ISS programs, host home providers’ residences, and day program locations. Mileage reimbursement is provided. This role requires participation in an on-call rotation and may occasionally require working shifts at the group home to ensure appropriate coverage and support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in the Human Services industry required.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of IDD experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, current car registration, and auto insurance required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Reliable, responsible, and compassionate in approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of HCS programs strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day program operations including direct supports, person-centered planning, healthcare coordination, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, safety, and maintenance of the physical environment.
  • Oversee financial management, staffing, recruiting, retention, and training initiatives.
  • Supervise program staff, including scheduling, orientation, performance evaluations, and corrective action.
  • Make recommendations and/or decisions regarding hiring, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, and terminations.
  • Monitor service delivery to ensure supports are consistent, engaging, and meaningful to the individuals served.
  • Provide on-call support to staff and assist with shift coverage as needed.
