About The Position

Pediatric Residency of Idaho (PRI) is searching for a dynamic, collaborative and forward-thinking pediatric education leader to be the next Program Director. PRI has a dual mission: 1) train outstanding, broad-spectrum pediatricians to work in all settings, including underserved and rural areas; and 2) serve the children, adolescents, and families of Idaho with high quality, affordable, and equitable care provided in a collaborative environment. PRI is the first and only Pediatric Residency Program in Idaho, and the first Pediatric Residency Program to be based out of a Federally-Qualified Health Center. PRI has outstanding faculty, a strong, friendly and cohesive group of residents, and excellent support from its sponsoring institution (Full Circle Health), our partnering children’s hospital (St Luke’s Children’s Hospital [SLCH]), and the community and state. PRI has continuing accreditation from ACGME, including no citations or areas for improvement. PRI curriculum has an outstanding continuity clinic experience, two full blocks of Advocacy and Community Pediatrics, and a required rural pediatrics rotation in each of the 3 years of residency, at one of 7 sites across our state. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Full Circle Health medical team members must have the ability to be fully credentialed, licensed and privileged.
  • Unrestricted / unconditional license to practice under the laws of the State of Idaho.
  • Maintain board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics.
  • Possess an unrestricted Board of Pharmacy registration, unrestricted DEA registration and all necessary federal narcotics and controlled substance numbers and licenses.
  • Maintain eligibility to participate in Medicare, Medicaid and all other third-party payment programs that contract with Full Circle Health
  • Our organization is a tobacco-free workplace.
  • We require immunizations for all staff to include an annual influenza vaccine as a requisite for employment.
  • Newly hired staff who are not able to be vaccinated due to medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs must apply for vaccination exemption prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years previous Program Director or Associate Program Director experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives
  • Knowledge of health care administration systems
  • Knowledge of ACGME policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of American Board of Pediatrics and American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics policies and procedures
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a changing environment
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications
  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, decision-making
  • Skill in identifying and resolving problems
  • Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Work 4 weekdays per week (~ 50% admin, ~50% clinical)
  • Cover 8 weekends per year of Newborn Nursery Rounding
  • Call Nights only cover after hours telephone calls for our clinic (no inpatient night coverage), after screening by nurse triage, resulting in about 1 after hours telephone call per 4 call nights.
